For twenty years I worked in the music business in London, corralling unruly rock stars and tricky session musicians in my varied roles as personal assistant, studio manager, press officer, and even a stint as Tour Nurse, for which my only qualifications were a bottle of gin, a tin of aspirin, and a packet of Flintstone band-aids.
In the late '90s I read psychology at the University of Surrey, Roehampton and turned my attention from musicians to unruly teenagers as Psychology Tutor and Student Counsellor at a sixth form college.
During my studies and while exploring Jungian psychoanalysis, I discovered life coaching. I hired my first coach to help me find a way to balance bringing up children while continuing my studies. It was from that experience that I switched tack and began exploring training options in the coaching field. Though Jung remains my favourite intellectual pin-up, coaching is more in line with who I am.
I embarked on an accelerated learning program - The Art and Science of Coaching with Marilyn Atkinson, Noble Manhattan U.K. Practitioner Coach, Fifteen Proficiencies with Thomas J. Leonard, Coach U Core Essentials and the experiential Landmark Education Curriculum for Living.
I now integrate my preferred counseling and coaching models with natural energy healing, pioneering the Slow Coach Movement. I created the Steps, a new paradigm in healing 12-week self-development program, whch I teach one-on-one via phone, Zoom, or Messenger. Further, I studied for ten years under Lucia Rene, author of Unplugging the Patriarchy, sat with compassionate spiritual teachers and healers, Bhante Wimala, Mada Dalian and Panache Desai.
I spent the better part of thirty years in London, taught English while coaching in Barcelona, and lived in a tower in Ireland. I am now based in Mexico.
